In the online world, it is even more important to communicate with the visitors to your website, be they existing customers or just browsing. You want to be able to reach out and tell people about a new product or service, or to entice them to return with a special offer. There are a number of ways to do this, and we at Dreams Realised can help you decide what will work best for you.
Of course you must have and use email to communicate with your customers. But it is surprising how few companies set this up correctly. For example, how many times have you emailed a query, never to receive a reply? At Dreams Realised we can help you configure your email to ensure you never miss any messages.
Becoming more popular these days is the use of instant messaging. This enables you to hold a live conversation (like a live text message session) with your customer in a dedicated window. As an alternative to seeing typed text, you can have the equivalent of a phone call through using software such as Skype and Windows Messenger. What's even better is that these conversations are free. So you can deal with customers from all over the world, from the comfort of your chair.
One very popular idea is to allow people to sign up to receive a newsletter from you. Making it easy to sign up is a must, and provides you with the opportunity to reach those people who only came for a fleeting visit. But it must be done properly, otherwise they will unsubscribe very quickly. You must ensure you take the details very carefully (and have a privacy policy to reassure them that you will use them correctly). Once you have the details you need to think carefully about what you will include in the newsletter. You will want to make it of interest to your readers, and include ways to bring them back to your website, through (for example) a link to a longer article or some special offers. You also need to distribute it carefully to ensure it is not considered as spam (mass emails to lots of people). We can help with all these aspects, just give us a call.
A forum is a place on your website where people can ask questions and share their opinion with other visitors. It is a series of interactive discussions between you and your visitors, and when used properly can generate a good reason for people to keep returning to your site. A little complex to set up in the first place, but once done it is easy to manage. You do need to work at them to keep them interesting, for example by adding short messages or articles, and responding to any questions raised. But all this hard work can result in a very loyal group of customers, and a good reason for visitors to return regularly. The more they return, the more likely they are to buy from you.
Facebook and Twitter are other popular ways of getting your website and services known in the online world. Facebook can be considered an extension to your website, whereas Twitter is more akin to short text messages sent out to people. Both have their place in online marketing, and we are happy to discuss these with you, and how useful they may be to you.
